"Clicketyclack, clicketyclack . . . to Perkinsville and back!" The big blue eagle decorated engine that powers the Verde Canyon Railroad slowly makes its way through Verde Canyon to the isolated destination called Perkinsville Ranch. The route to Perkinsville Ranch takes you along the Verde River, as it meanders through two national forests, passes Indian ruins, cloud-kissing vermillion cliffs, and through a 680-foot long man made tunnel on its four hour journey into the historic back country of Northern Arizona.

You can chose from two types of seating. First class cars offer comfortable living room style seating, complimentary appetizers and beverage service. With Coach class your travel in Pullman-style seats, with a snack bar available for munches and beverages.
Which ever way you travel you have access to several open-air viewing cars where picture taking is encouraged, and the clean air of Northern Arizona is abundant! During the Spring waterfalls, blooming cacti and wildflowers are everywhere. In the Summer black hawks and other wildlife are all about. In the Fall the trees glow with changing colors, and in the Winter golden eagles soar overheard.
